In my psychotherapy practice in Barcelona and through my online sessions, I work with many individuals who have learned to over-adapt, prioritize others, and avoid conflict. Over time, this can lead to a disconnection from one’s own needs, difficulty setting boundaries, and a persistent feeling of not living in alignment with oneself.
Past experiences, both personal and familial, often continue to influence how a person relates to others and perceives themselves. This may manifest as anxiety, excessive guilt, relationship conflicts, burnout, or physical symptoms.
In therapy, the process focuses on integrating personal history and working through unprocessed emotional experiences, including those that have been repressed or held within the body. It also involves recognizing and taking responsibility for one’s own projections, allowing for more conscious and balanced relationships.
A key aspect of our work is strengthening the connection with your own inner voice: the ability to perceive, understand, and make decisions from an authentic place. As this develops, it becomes more natural to recognize your boundaries, communicate them without excessive guilt, and relate to others from a more honest position.
The goal is not to create dependency, but to accompany each individual in developing the capacity to listen to themselves, regulate their emotional world, and relate with greater clarity and responsibility.
